Selling Your Horse on Manebid
Leverage the power of digital marketing with Manebid
Selling your horse online can sometimes feel daunting, but we can help make it an effective and rewarding experience.
Here’s a step-by-step look at the journey, from your paddock to the final sale.
Step 1: Register on Manebid
If you're a new user, you'll need to register on Manebid so you can nominate your listing. This is also necessary if you wish to bid in auctions or buy a listing on the platform. If you've already registered, you can login to your existing account.
Step 2: Nominate Your Horse
Once you've registered, you can start by nominating your horse for a Manebid sale. During this process, you'll be able to select from Timed Auction, Buy Now or Make Offer, depending on what best suits your goals and sales strategy. You can read more about these options in our FAQs. Our easy nomination process includes filling out details about your horse, uploading photos and videos, and paying the nomination fee. Once approved, your horse will be added to an upcoming auction.
Step 3: Create a Winning Listing
Your horse’s listing is your chance to make an impact. Write a clear and compelling description that highlights your horse’s strengths. Include high-quality photos and videos that showcase conformation, movement, and temperament. Our team offers resources to help you craft the perfect listing - be sure to check out our other articles for more helpful tips.
Step 4: Promote Your Horse
To increase your horse's reach to a targeted audience of buyers, you can choose to boost your listing with an optional Gold, Silver or Bronze promotion package. Read about our promotion packages on the Sell With Us page of our website, and watch a brief video explaining the inclusions of each. We'll leverage the power of data analytics, digital and social media marketing to attract genuine potential buyers to your listing.
Step 5: Buyer Questions
Buyers may have questions about your horse’s history, health, training, temperament or suitability. By providing a detailed description and answering the questions in our nomination form accurately, most of these should be answered upfront in your horse's listing. If you've purchased a promotion package, these come with full enquiry management, meaning we'll answer buyer's questions on your behalf. Anything we can't answer, we'll get in touch with you for more details.
Step 6: Watch the Bidding Action
As the auction unfolds, watch the bids roll in. Manebid’s platform ensures transparency and fairness, so you can feel confident throughout the process. If you've elected Buy Now, or Make an Offer, it's possible your horse may sell before the auction closes. If this happens, we'll be in touch with you and the buyer to finalise the sale, as described in step seven below.
Step 7: Finalise the Sale
Once the auction ends and buyer's funds settle in our trust account, we'll provide them with your details so that collection can be arranged. Upon confirmation, we'll transfer you the proceeds of the sale minus commission. This process can take a few days, during which we'd encourage you to make sure any necessary paperwork or other relevant documents are prepared for the buyer.
Selling your horse on Manebid is designed to be simple, efficient, and effective. Whether you’re a first-time seller or an experienced one, our platform helps connect you with the right buyers to get the results you deserve.
