  • Description

‘Geronimo’ is a great, hard-to-find size for smaller riders. He has three quality, balanced paces and has established a soft frame on the flat, comfortably working at preliminary dressage level. He is a lovely, forward-moving horse who thrives when he has a job to do and is kept in regular work. Reluctant sale due to time constraints. He has been exposed to a variety of environments, including: Local equestrian grounds / campdraft arena, Cow horse / campdraft clinics (3 in 2026), Riding along the main road, Endless trail riding both alone and in groups, High country camping trips, 10yo & 12yo riders under supervision. He is good to catch, tie up, clip, rug, trim, and float. Currently barefoot with good, sound hooves. Good doer, currently in a fluffy winter coat and rugged with an unlined canvas rug. This gelding doesn’t need sweaty saddlecloths or lunging, but he needs a genuine connection and a rider who can support him. The videos provided are current, showing him being ridden at least 3 times a week. Unfortunately, with my current workload, I can’t continuously commit to this. If he has a spell, he doesn’t have any buck, but he can occasionally be looky or unsure when introduced to unfamiliar environments; however, he has a willing, trainable nature. He settles beautifully once engaged in his work, but he requires a capable, confident rider who can keep him focused and continue his education. He is a forward-moving horse and is shown being ridden on both a loose rein and with contact. He naturally wants to ride forward with his flatwork, and is ridden slowly in order to engage his hind end and relax. While he has been ridden by highly capable, experienced young riders under supervision, he is absolutely NOT a beginner's horse, a confidence builder, or a horse for a rider returning from a break. Reasons he would NOT be a good fit - If you are an intermediate teen whose parents do not ride or understand educated horses. The young rider in the video is exceptionally experienced and rides a variety of horses. He would NOT suit an agistment centre home where he is only ridden once a week as he enjoys regular interactions regardless of riding. Reasons he WOULD be a good fit - He's a quality gelding with plenty of potential for an experienced, kind, and capable rider looking to produce a competitive show horse or performance partner. He will do anything and genuinely wants to please if the hand is firm but kind.

  • Performance

Nil performance record to date. Geronimo’s breeding combines a proven working-horse sire with two ASHS Hall of Fame bloodlines. His sire, Wynwood Cattleman - HSH, competed under Dean Bourlet through the early 2000s, placing at the National Championships in Scone in 2001 (2nd in the Hack Section, 3rd Working Stallion, 3rd Hack Stallion, 5th in the National 4yo Maturity/Working) and again at Albury in 2005, and won Feature Working Horse and Working 4yo ASH at the ASH Southern Highlands Branch Show. Further back, the pedigree traces to Comara Abbeys Cattle King - IS HSH, recognised by the Australian Stock Horse Society as an Impact Sire, and to Palmers Fort Abdul - IS HSH, another ASHS Hall of Fame Impact Sire, whose progeny groups won Sires Progeny Group at the Qld State Championship Show in 2005 and Halter Progeny Group at the Dubbo Show in 2001. The pedigree also carries American Quarter Horse influence through Harmans Handyman and Beaver Doc, bringing Doc Bar and Three Bars bloodlines into the line. Altogether, a genuine working-bred gelding out of proven Hall of Fame sire lines on both sides.
